Winter is traditionally a season of turning inwards, of rest, quiet contemplation, and reflection. It offers us the perfect time to explore our inner world whilst switching off a little more from the outer one. Winter brings with it many gifts and prepares us for the coming season of Spring, both inner and outer. So that we can emerge from our hibernation, refreshed, nourished and ready to begin anew.
With this in mind, I am offering a series of gentle sessions I have called ‘The Winter Wisdom Series’ to enable a group of like hearted souls to connect, learn and share in a safe online space. Together we will be looking at some of the key subjects that many of us wrestle with, related to this funny old business of being human.
The offerings include:
1st November – PERSONAL BOUNDARIES
Together we will explore what personal boundaries are and what they are not. Why we find them so difficult. How they relate to our core needs and values and ways to practice living a healthier more boundaried life.
8th November – COMMUNICATION
Learning new ways to communicate more effectively so that you feel seen, heard, and understood, as do the others in your life. We will explore barriers to healthy connection and ways to overcome them. What it means to really listen and not just wait to speak. What part vulnerability plays in healthy communication and connection.
15th November – TRIGGERS & TRANSFERENCE
This session is about understanding why we react the way we do, what our triggers are and the key part that transference plays in all our relationships. We will learn how to move beyond childlike reactivity into adultlike response. Connecting with ourselves and others in healthier and deeper ways.
22nd November – TAMING THE INNER CRITIC
Here we learn about that pesky inner voice of judgement and criticism, what it is and is not. Exploring how it is born and ways to tame it, working with it, not resisting and fighting against it. With practice we can transform this nasty voice from a shout to a whisper and eventually to only an occasional quiet visitor.
29th November – BUILDING RESILIENCE
Together we will explore what resilience is and it takes to become more resilient in life. Learning how to surf the waves of change and how to welcome adversity as an opportunity for growth. Also the key part compassionate feedback can play in building our inner emotional core.
6th December – LIVING AUTHENTICALLY
This session we delve into what it takes to live from a place of truth and without unnecessary masks and defences. We will discuss embracing vulnerability, courage, messiness and compassion as core elements of living a more authentic life and how authenticity is a moment-by-moment practice and choice.
13th December – BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS/PART 1
Here we learn about the impact of childhood on our adult relationships, how to recognise that each of us has both a child and adult inside and which we are relating to in any given moment. How to break negative cycles of destructive relating and how to lean into relationships as a spiritual practice for growth and healing.
20th December – BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS/PART 2
We will explore the key stages that relationships go through and how to healthily navigate them. Identifying key elements of our personality type and how this impacts the way we relate and how to connect on a deeper level with all those we love and care about.
These sessions will be held every Tuesday evening 18.00-20.00 UK times. The teaching element of each session will be approximately 90 minutes of delivery by Donna Lancaster, followed by an optional 30 minutes for a Q&A/paired sharing.
All sessions will be held on Zoom and the 90 minute teaching element can also be watched afterwards via recording.
